Artist Michael Stehr, a Piedmont native, will have an exhibit at the Piedmont Center for the Arts opening Friday, November 15, with gallery hours on weekends through Sunday, November 24.

Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, November 16-17 and 23-24.

The show is entitled “Made in the Shade, Celebrating Trees: Some of Mother Nature’s Greatest Sculpture”. The exhibit consists of 35 new paintings, a great number of which use trees as objects to communicate atmosphere and light. The forms depicted are a combination of structural and vaporous, all contributing to the mood and personality of the composition.

“I am grateful that our world is sprinkled with these wonderful objects with soul,” Stehr said.
